The Star of Bethlehem was the first origami that I tried from the book ‘Christmas Origami‘. The book is authored by John Montroll and has quite a collection of origami for Christmas, all of them made from a single sheet of paper.
The Star of Bethlehem was not very difficult to make, though I am not sure of how to make the arms stand right, without glueing the corners. I am making the 8-pointed star next and hope that it will come out better than this one did.

The Gospel of Matthew refers to the story of the Magi, or the three wise men, who arrived in Bethlehem guided by a bright star in the night sky. This is known as the Star of Bethlehem.

Pearlie, maybe you can try glue-ing a small piece of wire or a flexible stick down the fold of each star point (from the inside) to make it stand correctly…I hope that this helps…I love the star btw

Glad you like it
I too liked that longer arm along with the other shorter arms, looks very realistic. I should give your suggestions a try, maybe something will work out..
